Less Noise, More Solitude
At the northern tip of Koh Phi Phi, you’ll find the sweeping white sands of Laem Tong Beach. Accessible only by boat, this is where to go if you long for Phi Phi’s stunning scenery without the noise of its main beaches and village areas.
It’s beautiful up here, and feels far more calm and tranquil than other parts of the island. There are upscale resorts, standalone restaurants and the opportunity to walk to nearby beaches for a change of scenery. The beach has views out towards Bamboo and Mosquito Islands, popular stops on a longtail snorkelling trip.

Things to Do at Laem Tong Beach
- Enjoy some relative peace and relaxation, away from the island’s busier and noisier areas
- Laze on the white sands, and gaze out across ultramarine waters and distant islands
- Walk along the coast to two other gorgeous local beaches (Loh Lana Bay and Loh Bakao Beach)
- Head into Tonsai Bay for the hustle, bustle and action of Phi Phi’s main village and transport hub
- Hire a longtail boat taxi and go snorkelling at nearby Bamboo and Mosquito Islands

How to Get to Laem Tong Beach
From Tonsai Bay, longtail boats will make the 30-45 minute trip. The journey is much cheaper when taken during the day.
Some ferries coming to Koh Phi Phi from other islands within the Phuket/Krabi region will stop at the Laem Tong Pier, which is located 250m behind the beach (on the other side of the coast to the beach itself). Check timetables if this is your chosen way to get here.
It is possible to hike to Laem Tong Beach from Tonsai Bay (approx 2 hours, one -way). However, the route can be challenging due to heat, varying trail conditions and changeable weather at different times of the year.
